Got Videos?

Ok, I’ve gotten my blog going, and have consistently posted information on a weekly basis.  That’s GOOD!  However, I have heard from a few of my tribe buddies, that if I want to take blogging to the next level, I need to get some videos added as well.  I know you are right, but it is another thing to make myself actually do it.  I guess it is a fear of the unknown.  I’ve never done videos of any kind and it seems a bit overwhelming!  I guess it is time to get over all of that, isn’t it?

I have been so inspired by all of you who have already taken this on in the last couple of weeks, I think I am finally ready to step up!  And as always – I wouldn’t want to break into it gradually or something silly like that – NO – I am going to tackle the 30-day video challenge! This means I will be doing a video everyday for the next 30 days and posting them on YouTube to share with all of you.

All right here we go – Day 1 coming at you.

Not sure what possessed me to post my very first day!  What was I thinking?  Oh well, maybe it will inspire someone else who may have been putting off creating videos too.  Trust me, if I can do it – anyone can!  It was actually kind of fun and not nearly as scary as I thought it would be.  So, is there anyone out there that would like to join me in this challenge?  Please leave me a comment or send me a message.  I would welcome the company.  See you all on the computer screen!

Yours in Success,

  1. Thanks Nelson – I was waiting for that moment when I magically lost 30 lbs too – but it never happened:) Oh well – gotta go with what you have! Didn’t realize how much sun I got this weekend – I ‘m glowing:)

  2. Hey Glyna,

Good on you! Video adds a whole new dimension to you and it’s wonderful to see!

I’ve only created one so far but plan to do more… I keep putting it off because it’s really outside of my comfort zone!! You’ve just given me the kick up the backside I needed!!

    Wishing you a fabulous week!

    Emma 🙂

  3. Glyna,

What a great job with your first video. You look and sound like a natural. You are right o the money with all the reasons to start adding video to your blog. I can’t wait to see the rest of them.

Congratulations for taking the first step. I know it may feel like a huge step now, but when you look back you’ll see it was just a normal size step.

  4. Wow, are you sure this is your first video? Awesome job…you are a natural on camera.

Video is definitely the way to go. As you’ve expressed, it helps with search engine rankings, will bring more visitors to your blog directly from your YouTube channel, and most importantly, will help others to really get to know you on a more personal level.

Can’t wait to see the next 29!!!! Congratulations on a job well done Glyna!

  5. Glyna,
Congratulations on taking the plunge. The 30 Day Video Challenge can be very rewarding, it was for me. You did a great job on your first. You’re right, people get to know you better and connect with you more through your video. They can experience who you are.

Keep at it. It will get interesting about midway but keep going and stick with it. You’ll be surprised by how you feel when you’re finished. I look forward to more of your videos.

  6. Congrats on your new project! Your first video was really great and I’m sure you’re going to do just fine. This is the one thing that I seem to have a mental block against. Though I’m going to try to actually start shooting some videos as well. We’ll see 🙂

You’ve got a wonderful blog and I’m sure I’ll be back often!

  8. Hi Glyna, Thanks for sharing this video. You have inspired me to get videos going on my site. Did you post every single day, or just weekdays? I subscribed to your YouTube channel as well, so I am going to see more videos there.

  9. Hi Glyna,
For your first video you did a great job! I feel like I have to shower, put a little blush” on before I even think about doing a video! LOL. Look forward to seeing more of you.. 🙂

  10. Glyna,

  11. Very brave, well done! I’m not so brave..still trying to muster some courage..heck I find using Skype (with the camera on) hard enough.
    You’re a natural in front of a camera! 🙂

  12. Great job Glyna, on that video and on completing the challenge! If that was Day 1 , you must be a pro at cranking them out now.
Thanks for sharing, does incline me to take your lead and also move through that discomfort barrier.

  13. Thanks Johneal! Please let me know if I can help you with your video discomfort barrier. It won’t take long to get you up to speed. It is just taking that first step.

  14. Thank you so much for this post because I have been in the same situation. Videos have not been my thing either. You’ve now got me motivated.

    Thanks,

    Michael
